To paraphrase an old saying, “You may not be interested in cancel culture, but cancel culture is interested in you.”
Dr. Nicholas Meriwether, a philosophy professor, found that out the hard way. During one class, a male student raised his hand, and Dr. Meriwether called on him with a simple “Yes, sir.” After class, the student angrily approached Dr. Meriwether, demanding that the professor refer to him as a woman.
Dr. Meriwether calmly reasoned with the student. He was happy to drop the “sir” when referring to the student, but his conscience would not allow him to use “ma’am” in its place. When the student threatened to get the professor fired, the university buckled and punished Dr. Meriwether. Learn how ADF helped this professor defend the job he loves.
